Grant News
Not-for-profit organisations in Scotland can apply for grants of £20,001 to £500,000 through The National Lottery Community Fund’s Fairer Life Chances programme.
The programme aims to build stronger communities and improve the lives of people facing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination.
Projects should deliver one of two outcomes:
- children, young people and families to thrive
- people have better relationships, connections and physical or mental health
Projects must serve people experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination, and should be co-designed and led by those communities. Examples of fundable activities might include community-based family support hubs, peer‑led mental health networks, outreach services for care-experienced young people, or specialist support groups for isolated carers.
Eligible applicants include registered charities, voluntary or community organisations, and public sector bodies.
The funding supports projects lasting up to five years, with most grants expected to be under £250,000. Clear plans for measuring impact and reaching underserved communities are essential.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with funding decisions typically made within around 12 weeks. Before applying, potential applicants need to contact the National Lottery Community Fund to discuss their idea.
