Grant News
The Aldi Scottish Sport Fund has announced that its 2026 programme is open for applications from community sports organisations in Scotland, with grants of up to £3,000 available.
Run by Aldi Scotland, the supermarket retailer’s Scottish operating division, the annual fund returns for its 10th year and is intended to help local clubs cover essential costs and widen participation across all ages and abilities.
Eligible applicants must be based in Scotland and run sporting activities for the local community. Organisations can apply if they are:
- a community-focused sports club
- a registered CASC
- a school or educational organisation
- a religious organisation, Scout or Guide group, Armed Forces charitable service fund, or registered Community Interest Company.
Funding can be used for items such as equipment, kits and training costs. The scheme uses a tiered regional award structure, with one £3,000 grant, two £1,250 grants and one £750 grant available in each region.
Applications must be submitted by email using Aldi’s application form, and each Scottish region has its own opening and closing dates running from 13 April 2026 to 22 November 2026. Aldi assesses entries first, then shortlisted applicants move on to a public vote on Aldi's social media, with successful applicants notified by email 4 to 6 weeks after their regional deadline.
The first region to open for applications is Central Scotland (Postcode areas FK & ML): Applications are open until 10th May 2026. For details on the open/closing dates for the other regions, please check on the Aldi Scottish Sport Fund website (link below)
