Inspiring Scotland has announced that the Neighbourhood Ecosystem Fund is open for applications from community-led organisations across Scotland. The fund supports groups to develop local ecosystem restoration projects at the early design, planning and preparation stage. The Carman Family Foundation and other partners support the fund, and Inspiring Scotland manages it.
Grants of up to £13,500 are available for project development activities (e.g. feasibility, evidence gathering, project planning and strategy development).
Projects must focus on one or more of the following themes:
- Connecting nature corridors
- Habitat and species restoration
- Freshwater and wetland restoration
- Coastal and marine restoration
- Control of invasive non-native species
- Urban nature
Funding can support specialist advice, technical expertise, community activities, new staff posts, training placements and core costs.
Successful applicants can also access up to £1,500 of professional fundraising support to help secure future funding.
To be eligible to apply, organisations must have an annual income of less than £200,000.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
