The Scottish Government’s CivTech programme has launched Round 12, offering £5.7 million in contract opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators to develop technology-based solutions to public sector challenges. CivTech brings public and third sector organisations together with innovators to develop practical solutions to real-world problems.
Six challenges are available, covering
- substance use support,
- digital public services,
- the circular economy,
- NHS patient transport,
- child protection
- social housing.
Applicants do not need to be registered businesses and can apply for more than one challenge.
Shortlisted teams can receive £5,000 to take part in a three-week Exploration Stage. One team per challenge is then selected for the 15-week Accelerator and receives £40,000 to develop a Minimum Viable Product. Individual challenge contracts can be worth up to £650,000 plus VAT.
