The Corra Foundation has announced that its Racial Equity Fund is now open for applications, offering unrestricted grants of up to £50,000 over five years to organisations led by and supporting Black and racially minoritised communities across Scotland.
The Corra Foundation is a Scottish grant-making charity that supports people and communities to influence change and address inequality. The £500,000 fund is expected to support approximately ten organisations, helping strengthen community-led services and address racial inequality.
Funding of up to £10,000 annually can support existing or new projects and core running costs, including salaries, rent, travel and overheads. Priority interest is in work shaped and delivered by people with lived experience.
Examples of activities that could be supported include (this list is not exhaustive):
- Community support: Advice services, community outreach, social activities and initiatives addressing isolation.
- Education and employment: Mentoring, skills development, training and employability support.
- Health and wellbeing: Mental health support, wellbeing activities and culturally appropriate services.
- Tackling discrimination: Community education, advocacy, awareness raising and initiatives addressing racial inequalities.
- Support for families and young people: Youth activities, parenting support and opportunities for community participation.
Key points include:
- Applicants must be Scottish charities or registered not-for-profit organisations.
- Annual income must not have exceeded £250,000 in each of the last three financial years.
- At least 75% of board members and 50% of senior staff, where applicable, must be Black or racially minoritised.
- Organisations must have supported their communities for at least 12 months.
Applications must be submitted online by 12 noon on 15 October 2026. Decisions are expected by mid-March 2027.
