Grants for Charitable Organisations Working in Disadvantaged Communities (Sunderland, Salford, and Redcar and Cleveland)

Funding is available to support not-for-profit organisations tackling the challenges facing disadvantaged communities in Sunderland, Salford, and Redcar and Cleveland.

The Greggs Foundation Community Grants programme provides core funding of £20,000 per year (for up to two years) to support organisations in managing costs and maintaining services. This will enable organisations to:

  • address direct needs in the local community
  • provide food and support for individuals
  • reduce social isolation and widen networks
  • build knowledge, confidence and opportunities

The types of costs that can be supported include:

  • contributions towards bills, i.e. electricity, gas, rent, rates
  • contributions towards core salaries
  • HMRC costs relating to the core salaries only

Organisations with an annual turnover of between £25,000 and £1 million are eligible to apply, with those located near a Greggs Outlet or in an area of deprivation most likely to receive awards.

Grants are awarded to organisations who are based in the Foundation’s geographical focus areas which change from round to round.

The closing date for applications is the 15th November 2024.
