Grant News
Grants of up to £1,000 are available through the Universal Music UK Sound Foundation Individual Funding programme to help eligible students buy musical instruments or equipment. The Foundation is an independent music education charity, supported by Universal Music, working to improve access to music education in the UK and Ireland.
Individuals can apply if they are British, EU/EEA nationals, or overseas applicants ordinarily resident in the UK. Applicants must be in full-time education when funding offers are made and either be in school up to Year 11 with regular music lessons, or studying full-time on a certified music course at college, university or conservatoire.
Funding can be used towards instruments or equipment. It cannot support music lessons, tuition fees, exam fees, travel, accommodation, retrospective purchases, deposits, or items bought before an offer is made.
- Applications are submitted online using separate forms for applicants aged 15 and under, and 16 and over.
- A current independent music teacher must submit the reference form directly.
The deadline is 10am on 7 October 2026. Successful applicants will be contacted by email.
