New £5 Million Fund To Promote a Just Transition to Net Zero (England, Scotland and Wales)

The Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme has launched a new Just Transition Fund, providing £5 million in grants to support community renewable energy projects across England, Scotland, and Wales. The fund is designed to help charities and community energy groups develop projects that will benefit vulnerable populations and contribute to the UK's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

Individual projects can apply for grants ranging from £20,000 to £250,000. The fund's purpose is to help build capacity in the community energy sector and demonstrate the benefits of a fair transition to renewable energy. It forms part of the scheme's broader goal of supporting carbon emissions reduction initiatives.

Applications for the first round of the Just Transition Fund must be submitted by 5pm on the 19th November 2024.

Interested organisations must register with the Energy Redress Scheme at least 10 days before the deadline to allow time for eligibility checks and form completion.
