Grant News
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), an independent charity with a mission to improve educational attainment for the poorest pupils in English schools, has announced its Spring 2025 Post-16 education funding round is open for applications.
The grant aims to fund programmes that improve pupil attainment in post-16 education, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Priority areas for this funding round are:
- Attendance
- EdTech and AI
- GCSE resits
- Transition from school to college
While the amount of funding available for this round has not been specified, past EEF grants have ranged from £90,000 to £1.5 million.
Eligible applicants include registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, schools, universities, colleges, and various educational entities.
The foundation particularly encourages applications that involve partnerships with target schools or demonstrate clear benefits for pupils in these institutions.
The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) recently funded two post-16 projects to support students retaking their GCSEs in maths and English.
- The "Can-Do Maths" programme, delivered by the Education and Training Foundation, provides professional development for educators to enhance student engagement and resilience in maths.
- The Resit Tuition Programme offers small-group tuition to build student confidence and address knowledge gaps in maths and english. These initiatives are part of the EEF's broader effort to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged post-16 learners.
EEF will hold a webinar at 3pm on Wednesday, 5th February, to support prospective teams in applying for this funding round. For registration, please use the follow link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Hhf3jzAgQzmXZQf0IgCxrQ
