Grant News
The National Lottery Community Fund is inviting applications from schools (and other not for profit organisations) for the National Lottery Awards for All England – Environment grant. The funding aims to support local action on environmental issues and help communities respond to climate change and biodiversity loss. The grant recognises the role schools can play in fostering environmental awareness and community engagement.
Schools can apply for grants of between £300 and £20,000 to deliver projects lasting up to two years.
Projects must benefit the wider community as well as the environment. Funded activities can include school-led rewilding schemes, forest schools, food growing projects, tree planting, energy saving measures such as solar panels, and repair or reuse workshops. All activities must involve the local community and promote long-term environmental action.
The grant is currently open for applications. Applications can be submitted at any time until17 December 2025. Applications must be submitted at least 16 weeks before the project start date.
To apply, schools must visit the National Lottery Community Fund website and complete the online form for the “National Lottery Awards for All England – Environment” programme, including details on proposed activities, community involvement, and project costs.
