Grant News
The Royal British Legion (RBL)has launched a new Community Grants Programme to support projects that help members of the Armed Forces community connect with others in their local area.
Funding will support projects that bring people together, reduce loneliness and help Armed Forces communities access local support.
Eligible activities could include:
- projects that enable members of the Armed Forces community to share skills, experience and support;
- community improvement projects;
- arts and creative activities;
- events celebrating the contribution of the Armed Forces community;
- and youth groups for children from Armed Forces families.
Projects that provide regular social events, sport or shared activities, or help people connect with welfare and wellbeing support, may also be considered.
Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations with a formal constitution. Applicants must show that their project will support members of the British Armed Forces community who meet RBL’s eligibility criteria.
Grants of up to £25,000 per year are available for up to two years, with a maximum total grant of £50,000. Applications close at 23:59 on 2 August, although the programme may close earlier if demand is high. Decisions are expected by the end of October.
Small grants of up to £500 may also be available for one-off community events.
