Funding to Make Playing Football More Accessible at Grassroots Level (UK)

Barclays, in partnership with Sported—a UK-wide charity promoting fairness and equity for young people through grassroots sport and physical activity—has launched a new funding round to make playing football more accessible at the grassroots level and deliver football to underrepresented young people in disadvantaged areas.

Through the Barclays Community Football Fund, community groups across the UK wishing to start offering football or expand their existing provision, will receive grants of up to £1,000 and additional support to develop inclusive football activities.

The fund will primarily support disadvantaged young people in deprived areas through local organisations to reduce inequalities in sport and physical activity participation. This includes women and girls, racially diverse communities, young people with disabilities, from the LGBTQ+ community, and from lower socio-economic areas.

Applications can be made until the 15th September 2024.
