Funding to Improve Health & Wellbeing through Marine Conservation (UK)

Marine conservation charities and not-for-profit organisations based and working in the UK can apply for grants of around £3,000 to £5,000 to support socially beneficial marine conservation approaches and solutions.

The funding, which is being made available through the Sea-Changers’ Marine Conservation Social Fund, will support up to seven projects that will achieve marine conservation outcomes and increase the number of people taking action for marine conservation, alongside social, health and /or well-being benefits for the disadvantaged individuals and communities that participate.

Participants might include:

  • Refugees
  • people experiencing mental ill health
  • ex-offenders
  • disabled people
  • people seeking employment

Sea-Changers is particularly interested in funding pilot programmes which might be continued, expanded and / or replicated with additional funding in future years.

Applications from partnerships between marine conservation organisations and social welfare organisations are actively encouraged.

The closing date for applications is the 22nd December 2023.
