Funding to Address Veterans' Housing Needs (UK)

Charities and registered social housing providers with experience in supporting Veterans are invited to apply for grants of £75,000 to £500,000 through the Major Capital Grants programme. Launched by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, this programme aims to alleviate veterans' housing challenges, contributing to the government's ambition to reduce Veteran homelessness and end rough sleeping.

The Trust can also offer larger grants of £500,000 to £1million for exceptional projects. These larger grants will be subject to additional eligibility criteria, including secured match funding of at least 30% at the time of application.

The grants will be awarded across four funding rounds. They will support projects that involve new builds or significant refurbishment, including extensions of rental accommodation and offer high-quality support for veterans with housing needs.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must demonstrate that a substantial portion of their organisation's work focuses on Veterans or that they possess extensive experience working with this demographic. The grants will enhance the availability of affordable and supportive housing options for Veterans, contributing to their overall well-being and integration into civilian life.

The next closing date for submitting an Expression of Interest is on the 8th January 2025.

Interested organisations are encouraged to visit the Covenant Fund Trust website for detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures. (Link below).
