Grants of up to £50,000 Available to Boost Sports Participation and Enhance Facilities (Wales)

Sports clubs and community organisations across Wales can apply for funding through the newly announced Be Active Wales Fund funding rounds for 2025-26. The Be Active Wales Fund, administered by Sport Wales and funded through National Lottery money.

The scheme, which offers grants ranging from £300 to £50,000, aims to boost sports participation and enhance facilities throughout Welsh communities. The fund provides support for a wide range of initiatives, including equipment purchases, facility improvements, and volunteer and coach development programmes.

Organisations seeking funding will need to demonstrate their commitment to the project through matched contributions. For grants between £300 and £25,000, applicants must contribute 10% of the total project cost, while larger applications between £25,001 and £50,000 require a 20% contribution. Special provisions apply to specific improvements such as floodlighting, where a 50% contribution cap is in place.

Three distinct application windows have been scheduled throughout the year, giving organisations multiple opportunities to secure funding. The first window opened on the 2nd  April 2025 and runs until the 4th June 2025, followed by additional windows from July 9th to September 17th, 2025, and November 5th to January 14th, 2026.
