Grants of up to £5,000 Available to Support Adult Physical & Mental Health (Cambridgeshire)

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to charities, community groups and social enterprises across Cambridgeshire that are delivering sport and healthy activity projects supporting physical and mental health.

The GVC Fund, administered by the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation, will support projects that use sport and physical activity to raise awareness, tackle mental health stigmas, and support adults with mental or physical health problems to become more active.

Priority will be given to small, locally based organisations in areas of disadvantage, run by people with lived experience. Up to 50% of the grant can be used for core costs.

The deadline for applications is the 1st November 2021.

Previously funded projects include:

DIAL/Disability Peterborough - received £4,207 to fund an inclusive sports coordinator, providing a wide variety of sports for participants, to increase numbers and to enter Regional and National Special Olympics games in 2020 and 2021.

Freedom Leisure - received £3,324 to run a community outreach programme for 60 older people, providing them with the opportunity to participate in physical exercise.
