Funding for Green Social Housing Upgrades (England)

As part of the effort to make England’s homes greener and more energy efficient, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy is making a further £800 million in funding available to improve the energy performance of social housing in England.

The funding will be available to registered providers of social housing, including private, and local and combined authority providers, to support the installation of energy performance measures that will help to deliver warm, energy-efficient homes, reduce carbon emissions and fuel bills, tackle fuel poverty, and support green jobs.

Non-registered providers can now apply within a consortium led by a registered provider.

The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy will require at least 50% of total eligible costs to be provided by the Applicant when applying for the SHDF Wave 2.1 competition.

Wave 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund is expected to launch in early September 2022.
