Taking Teaching Further Programme Opens for Registration (England)

Registrations for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme 2024 are now open.

The TTF is a Department for Education-funded initiative that supports further education providers (FE) in recruiting people with industry experience to retrain as teachers in teaching positions across any of the 15 technical teaching routes.

Funding will also support recruits who will teach English, maths, or science and provide support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.

TTF 2024 is open to eligible FE providers through 2 routes:

  • route 1 is open to general FE colleges, sixth-form colleges, land-based colleges and institutes of adult learning
  • route 2 is open to independent training providers, employer providers, third-sector training providers, local authority providers, adult and community learning providers, and specialist post-16 institutions

Funding of either £15,200 or £21,200 is available to providers over 2 financial years per recruit, depending on the teaching route undertaken,

Registration for route 1 closes at 5pm on the 14th June 2024.

Route 2 is administered on a first-come-first-served basis. The registration window for this will close once all available places have been allocated.
