Grants for Healthy Relationships Education in Secondary Schools (England)

The Youth Endowment Fund has announced that its Violence Against Women and Girls Prevention Programme is open for applications. The Youth Endowment Fund is a £200 million charity established with a Home Office endowment to find out what works to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence.

The programme aims to generate evidence on how secondary schools can best deliver healthy and respectful relationships education, improve young people’s knowledge and attitudes, and reduce violence against women and girls over the long term, including physical, emotional and sexual abuse in relationships, coercive or controlling behaviour, harassment and exploitation, including online and technology-facilitated abuse.

This round focuses on young people aged 11 to 16 in state secondary schools in England.

Applications are invited under two strands:

  • building school capacity internally, through training and support for secondary school staff to deliver healthy relationships content as part of the RSHE curriculum;
  • delivery by experienced external specialist providers of universal healthy relationships content directly to pupils.

Applicants must be registered charities, companies, statutory bodies or CICs. Projects must be delivered in England, fit one of the two strands, and be ready to take part in an independent evaluation. Organisations must have at least one year’s experience of delivering the proposed intervention model and be able to work at sufficient scale, likely across 20 to 30 secondary schools or more.

Grant amounts are at the discretion of the funder. Full proposals must be submitted by email by 9am on 27 July 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in August, with delivery in schools expected to begin in September 2027 and finish by December 2028.

The  Youth Endowment Fund will be holding an information webinar on Wednesday 24th June, 10.30 am- 12 pm.  Please register by clicking here
