Support for Voluntary and Community Organisations in Former Coalfield Communities (North East, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands & Yorkshire)

Grants of up to £10,000 are available to voluntary and community organisations addressing local needs in former coalfield communities.

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust’s Coalfields Recovery & Resilience Fund will support organisations that are delivering support services in the top 30% most deprived former coalfield areas or have significantly adapted their services in order to respond to the current issues/challenges in their community and support vulnerable people.

Funding can be used to help with 100% core costs.

The type of activities/services that could be supported include (the list is not exhaustive)

  • Organisations providing direct advice, guidance and support to people who are in crisis and/or experiencing financial hardship 
  • Organisations supporting people who are experiencing poor mental health 
  • Organisations supporting vulnerable people who are experiencing health inequalities, loneliness and/or social isolation
  • Organisations supporting people experiencing domestic violence/sexual abuse
  • Organisations supporting local community activity, including volunteering, and co-ordination of services

The next deadline for submitting the eligibility survey for the April 2021 Committee is 5pm on the 4th March 2022. The deadline for submitting applications is 5pm on the 18th March 2022.
