Funding to Provide Free Activities and Food to Children during School Holidays (Manchester)

Youth Providers in Manchester can apply for funding to provide free activities and food to children and young people during the school holidays through the Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) programme.

The programme, created by Manchester City Council and MCRactive, aims to support families who are facing difficulties during school holidays, particularly addressing the issue of "unhealthy holidays" which include holiday hunger, limited access to nutritious and healthy meals, and limited access to physical and fun activities. These issues have been further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programme is targeted at those who are eligible for benefit-related free school meals and those with no recourse to public funds.

Organisations eligible to apply include voluntary and community sector organisations, including youth and play organisations sports clubs, schools and other educational establishments such as SEND, PRU’s and supplementary schools, and out of school provision, arts and culture organisations, and outdoor adventure and education organisations.

Applications for the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays during 2023 must be submitted online by the 31st January 31 2023.
