Funding to Support Vulnerable People in the Event of a Power Outage (North West)

Electricity North West, the company responsible for the power network in the North West of England is offering a total of £1.75m in funding to charities, groups and organisations over the next five years.

The aim is to form partnerships that will provide support to vulnerable people in the event of a power outage. These partnerships will begin in April, and the company is now accepting applications from organisations in the North West  (excluding Merseyside). Applications from Greater Manchester are seen as a high priority.

Last year, the average grant amount was £15,000. Groups that apply must be able to help Electricity North West proactively identify and support vulnerable customers by encouraging them to sign up for the free Extra Care Register.

The deadline for submissions is the 31st March 2023.
