Grant News
The Paul Hamlyn Foundation is accepting applications for the Teacher Development Fund (TDF). The TDF supports the effective delivery of arts-based teaching and learning in primary schools.
Each year, the fund awards approximately eight grants of up to £165,000 to partnerships of arts/cultural organisations and six to ten schools. These partnerships will collaborate over a two-year period and participate in a shared learning programme.
The TDF prioritises projects that:
- Promote partnerships between primary schools and arts/cultural organisations
- Support teachers’ professional development and learning
- Address systemic inequity and disadvantage faced by children and young people
- Involve learning in and through the arts, adopting an anti-racist and intersectional approach
- Use various art forms, such as crafts, creative writing, dance, film, music, photography, theatre, visual arts, and cross-arts practices
The TDF aims to have a lasting impact by developing teachers’ skills and confidence in integrating arts-based learning into their everyday practice. It also seeks to support school leaders in embedding arts-based learning in their school’s curriculum. The practices developed through funded projects are expected to continue beyond the two-year period, with active involvement from school leadership.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 13th November 2024.
