Grant News
UK charitable Search and Rescue (SAR) organisations can apply for funding to support the training of their operational volunteers.
The UKSAR Volunteer Training Fund is designed to help SAR organisations improve the safety and quality of their services by covering up to 50% of the costs of training, such as first aid, navigation, and search techniques.
There is no upper limit for funding, but grant requests of at least £1,000 are expected to help cover the costs of:
- training courses
- external trainers
- administration costs
- travel and accommodation expenses
- equipment (e.g manikins or training defibrillators)
- blue light training
Strong applications will demonstrate how the training will impact both the capability of the organisation and its volunteers, and reflect the proven operational need in the local area.
Umbrella organisations may make global applications to the Fund for their affiliated groups.
Funding is provided by the Charities Aid Foundation and will cover the period between 01 April 2024 and 31 March 2026:
After this application no further rounds will be available and the programme will close.
The closing date for applications is the 14th November 2023.
