Grant News
Merseyside’s Police and Crime Commissioner has re-opened the Youth Diversion Fund to prevent young people from becoming involved in anti-social or criminal behaviour.
Grants of up to £3,000 are available for safe and engaging diversionary projects for children and young people taking place during the October half-term holiday, specifically on Halloween and Bonfire Night.
The Fund is seeking applications for:
- projects which allow the local community to tackle the problems in their neighbourhoods themselves
- projects organised by charities, community groups or social enterprises based anywhere in Merseyside
- projects which include as many sections of the community as possible
- projects that can demonstrate that they will make a difference to their community
The funding is made available using money raised through the Police Property Act to organisations which are committed to improving community safety, reducing crime or supporting victims.
Projects should meet at least one of the Police Commissioner’s priorities:
- Fighting Crime; Proactive Policing
- Supporting Victims; Safer Communities
- Driving Change; Prevent Offending
The Fund is administered by the Community Foundation for Merseyside.
A total of £50,000 is available during this round.
The deadline for applications is 4pm on the 8th September 2023.
