Grants to Provide Warm Spaces for Vulnerable People (Cumbria)

Community groups and organisations across Cumbria can apply for funding to offer warm spaces for vulnerable people this winter.

Cumbria Community Foundation, in partnership with Cumberland Council and Westmorland and Furness Council, offers grants of up to £500 from the Warm Spots Fund. The aim is to help create a network of places where people can keep warm and socialise.

A warm spot can be any community venue—a village hall, community centre, church, or parish room—that provides a heated space and a hot drink and is open for at least two hours each week.

Funding can be used to cover:

  • energy bills
  • additional staff time
  • volunteer expenses
  • drinks
  • venue hire
  • other relevant costs

Applications can be submitted at any time, and groups should hear the outcome within 10 working days.
