Grants Available to Support Creative Freelancers & Small Arts Organisations (Greater Manchester)

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is providing funding to support creative freelancers and small, independent music and arts organisations.

The GMCA Inspire Fund aims to support the regrowth and strengthening of the creative sector by funding a range of activities, including purchasing new instruments, replacing costumes, and upskilling through training courses.

Applications can be submitted by:

  • Freelance artists
  • Independent creatives, artists, musicians, and performers
  • Small creative arts organisations with an annual turnover of less than £100,000

Photography, literature, heritage projects and visual arts are some of the cultural groups that could benefit from grants of between £500 and £2,000.

Examples of funded items include:

  • Software
  • Contributions towards venue or room hire
  • Small Capital Expenditures
  • Training/course fees
  • Upgrades to kit
  • Equipment
  • Materials and resources
  • Tools to enhance working environment
  • Instruments

The fund is managed by Salford CVS, on behalf of 10GM.

Applications close at 12pm on the 31st October 2025, with outcomes notified within six weeks.
