Grant News
Transport for Greater Manchester has launched a new fund to help more women and girls cycle in Greater Manchester.
The Women and Girls Small Grants Scheme offers grants of up to £2,000. The funding will support practical activities run by local groups and organisations that make it easier, more welcoming and more enjoyable for women and girls to cycle.
Transport for Greater Manchester is the local transport body responsible for transport services and projects that support walking, cycling and wheeling across the city-region.
The scheme is open to organisations working with women and girls, including:
• community and voluntary groups
• voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith-based organisations
• schools and education settings
• NHS and health organisations
• other not-for-profit organisations.
Projects must take place in Greater Manchester and focus on encouraging women and girls to cycle.
Funding can be used for one-off activities or short projects. These could include led rides, taster sessions, confidence-building activities, workshops, awareness-raising sessions, community projects, equipment, or creative projects.
The scheme aims to remove barriers to cycling and help more women and girls use bikes for everyday journeys.
This is a short-term, one-off fund linked to the Women and Girls Summer 2026 campaign. Activities should ideally take place between June and September 2026.
Applications must be completed using the scheme’s application form and emailed to TfGM’s Active Travel Team. A postal option is also available.
The deadline for applications is 9am on Monday 11 May 2026.
