Funding to Celebrate Local Places (Leeds)

The Leeds Community Foundation, in partnership with Leeds Civic Trust, is making funding available to support community organisations in delivering activities and projects that celebrate their local area.

The Leeds Civic Trust Community Fund is offering grants of between £10,000 and £20,000 for two-year community-led projects that celebrate the history, culture, or community of a specific place. This might be a specific building or street, or it might be defined by a community of people.

The types of projects that could be funded include

  • a historic walking tour
  • workshops, events, and exhibitions to celebrate a local building and those who have resided in it over the years
  • a community garden and commemorative bench
  • a community cookbook

Between 5 and 8 applications are expected to be funded.

Applications from under-served and/or underrepresented communities are encouraged.

Small unincorporated and unregistered community groups can apply for a maximum of £5,000 each year.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on the 23rd October 2023.
