Grants for the Restoration of Historic Country Buildings (England & Wales)

Grants of up to £250,000 are available for the restoration and conservation of rural historic buildings and structures in England and Wales, including their gardens, grounds and outbuildings.

The funding is made available by the Historic Houses Foundation to owners (charities, institutions, local authorities, and individuals) who are committed to the sustainable care, management, and public access of historic country houses.

The funding is intended to support projects that either do not qualify for mainstream funding or have been awarded only partial funding.

The restoration and conservation of works of art in historic house collections open to the public will also be supported.

Most grants are for less than £50,000.

There is a two-stage application process.  Pre-applications can be submitted at any time. The trust aims to respond to all pre-application forms within 28 days of receipt.

Full application forms are considered at quarterly meetings held throughout the year.
