The Yorkshire Policy Innovation Partnership (YPIP), which brings together 12 Yorkshire universities, local authorities, and community organisations has launched a £800,000 Communities Innovating Yorkshire Fund (CIYF).
The aim is to foster projects that promote inclusive growth, sustainable living, and data informatics within the Yorkshire and The Humber region. This initiative encourages collaborations between academic institutions, local governments, and community organisations to address regional challenges through innovative, community-driven solutions.
The CIYF offers two funding pathways:
- seedcorn funds up to £10,000 for small or pilot projects,
- and larger project funds up to £50,000 for more developed initiatives.
Eligible projects should align with one of YPIP's five themes:
- Collecting and Utilising Community Data,
- Good Work and Better Business,
- Culture and the Creative Industry,
- Climate-Ready Places,
- and Communities In Their Places.
The fund particularly encourages applications focusing on socially marginalised groups, including racial or ethnic minorities, women, residents of isolated communities, and those facing economic hardships.
Applications are open to organisations that can demonstrate meaningful community engagement and collaboration across various sectors. The deadline for submissions is 23:59 on the 23rd March 2025. Interested parties are advised to attend upcoming information webinars and review the full application guidance available on the Y-PERN website.
