£100,000 Fund to Help Angling Clubs & Fisheries Protect Waters from Invasive Species & Diseases (England)

The Angling Trust, in partnership with the Environment Agency, is inviting applications for the latest round of the Angling Improvement Fund - Biosecurity and Invasive Non-Native Species.

The Angling Improvement Fund is funded by income from the sale of fishing licences and aims to improve habitat and facilities for anglers across the country. £100,000 of funding is available in this round.

Who is eligible:

  • angling clubs
  • commercial angling venues
  • syndicate fisheries
  • community organisations
  • local authorities who provide angling facilities

This latest round will award grants of up to £5,000 for projects that help to stop the spread of invasive non-native species and boost biosecurity at fishing venues.

Eligible activities include installing washdown stations and dip tanks, purchasing specialist equipment, providing training for staff and volunteers, and contractor fees for surveys or installations.

The fund will remain open until all funding has been allocated.
