Leeds Community Foundation has announced that the Pears Youth Fund is open for applications, offering grants of £20,000 over two years (£10,000 per year) to support youth work in Leeds and Bradford.
The fund aims to support organisations to deliver youth work and promote youth voice, youth empowerment and youth activities.
Funding can be used flexibly for core costs, specific activities, or a mix of both.
The types of youth work supported include:
- activities that support young people to gain life skills
- activities that enable young people to meet new people and build connections
- activities that enable young people to get into nature and explore new environments
- activities that support young people to gain new experiences, opportunities and make memories
- activities that support physical health and mental wellbeing
Eligible applicants include charities, not-for-profit organisations, CICs and CIOs with an annual turnover of between £30,000 and £850,000.
Most beneficiaries should be aged between 5 and 20 (or up to 25 with additional needs)
Around six grants are expected to be awarded.
